Hongyu Fan Named Materials Research Society Fellow
Sandia National Laboratories announced that researcher Hongyou Fan has been elected one of fewer than 500 fellows of the Materials Research Society (MRS) for his work in nanotechnology.
Fan is the fifth Sandian named an MRS fellow and the first elected since 2011, the lab said.
His nanotechnology work was cited for “pioneering contributions to the development of novel synthesis methods and self-assembly processes to fabricate multifunctional nanomaterials for nanoelectronic and nanophotonic applications and service to the materials community.” The MRS describes its fellows as “outstanding members whose sustained and distinguished contributions to the advancement of materials research are internationally recognized.”
Sandia National Laboratories is a multiprogram laboratory operated by Sandia Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corp., for the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration.
