Lumera Laser becomes Coherent Kaiserslautern
Lumera Laser GmbH has officially changed its name to Coherent Kaiserslautern GmbH. Coherent purchased the privately held business in December 2012. The company makes ultrafast solid-state lasers for microelectronics, materials processing and OEM medical applications. Franz Josef Walenski, CEO of Coherent Dieburg, will serve as executive director of Coherent Kaiserslautern with Dr. Achim Nebel, formerly Lumera Laser CEO. Dr. Ralf Knappe remains a company officer. The company’s physical address in Kaisers-lautern, Germany, will not change.
