Hella Increases Stake in Docter Optics
Hella KGaA Hueck & Co., a manufacturer of lighting and electronic components and systems for the automotive industry, announced it will increase its stake in Docter Optics GmbH by acquiring Rodenstock Technologies Holding.
Currently subject to approval by the monopolies and mergers authorities, the acquisition will make Hella the majority shareholder.
Hella plans to continue its development of Docter Optics with the managing directors involved in the company. It will continue to act as an independent company, and focus will be placed on the development of its projection lenses. These are required in the development of new LED lighting technologies used in vehicle headlights. The aim is to utilize the commercial potential of the non-automotive division further.
Docter Optics manufactures projection lenses made from optical glass for manufacturers of vehicle headlights. In addition, it manufactures optical components and systems for safety systems, biometrics, medicine and analysis systems, regenerative energy production and other image processing areas.
