About This Webinar
Join us for an in-depth exploration of terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (terahertz TDS) and its transformative impact on industrial applications. This webinar will cover the fundamental principles of terahertz TDS while showcasing the latest advancements in Menlo Systems’ cutting-edge solutions, now featuring up to four times more terahertz power, 5× faster scanning, and improved detection capabilities with a dynamic range of up to 110 dB and a bandwidth of up to 6.5 THz. Through real-world case studies, it will be demonstrated how these advancements elevate quality control, material characterization, and nondestructive testing (NDT) across industries.
Learn how terahertz TDS complements traditional NDT techniques such as near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, x-ray imaging, and ultrasonic testing — delivering deeper insights with unmatched precision and efficiency. Prince Bawuah, Ph.D., will explore practical applications in pharmaceutical manufacturing, semiconductor testing, coatings inspection, ceramics assessment, and electric vehicle battery electrode analysis, among others. Attendees will gain actionable insights into how terahertz TDS helps reduce operational costs, enhance product quality, and optimize industrial processes. Terahertz TDS is revolutionizing industrial applications from quality control and material characterization to nondestructive testing. Experts from Menlo Systems will showcase their latest innovations, including faster scanning, higher power, and unmatched precision. Learn how terahertz TDS is optimizing processes in pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, coatings, and more. Don't miss this opportunity to stay ahead in industrial innovation!

About the presenters:
Menlo Systems' Prince Bawuah Ph.D. is a product manager for Terahertz Systems at Menlo Systems, Munich. He earned his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Eastern Finland in 2017 and afterward worked as a research associate at the University of Cambridge before joining Menlo in 2023. A leading expert in terahertz technology, he has made significant contributions to its applications in pharmaceutics and photonics. Bawuah also serves as an adjunct professor in terahertz physics at the University of Eastern Finland.
Mathew Whittlesey studied high-energy fiber lasers at the University of Michigan under Almantas Galvanauskas, where he built systems to provide high-energy, high-repetition rate laser sources for laser-plasma accelerators. These laser systems used coherent combining to overcome the energy limitations in fiber amplifiers. He received his Ph.D. in 2022 and is currently providing technical sales support for femtosecond lasers and terahertz spectrometers for Menlo Systems, where he now designs laser and terahertz systems to solve experimental and practical needs of customers, providing turnkey solutions to maximize time spent on their applications.
