About This Webinar
The invention of optical coherence tomography (OCT) has allowed physicians, researchers, and various industries to obtain very detailed 3D images of a material's underlying physical structure. The high-resolution tomographic images obtained via OCT, have unlocked an array of new options including obtaining an improved understanding of volumetric microstructures, earlier and more precise detection of medical issues or improved quality control, and process optimization in the manufacturing industry.

Sterobo attempts to break down the, at times, complex world of OCT measurements by going through the fundamentals of spectral domain OCT (SD-OCT) and explaining how optical and physical parameters of the system and spectrometer affect the resulting image quality. He concludes by looking at where the technology is moving in the near future and what developments are underway in the industry so that participants are best equipped to determine if OCT should be part of their future measurement technologies.

About the presenter

Rasmus B. SteroboRasmus B. Sterobo is an OEM spectrometer application specialist at Ibsen Photonics. He has experience in optical engineering, data conditioning, and implementing OEM spectrometers in high-performance optical devices. He has worked with an array of different spectrometer-based topics including absorbance spectroscopy, LIBS, Raman, fluorescence, and spectral domain OCT. His background is as an engineer of applied physics, with a specialization in optics and nanotechnology.

Sterobo’s day-to-day work involves fourth-level support of Ibsen Photonics' customers, product management, design review, root cause analysis, writing software code, and fabricating technical product documentation.
