About This Webinar
Vision systems play a crucial role in providing the manufacturing industry with relevant data to optimize processes and to ensure high production quality. Today, a large selection of techniques and methods is available. Recent developments in photonics technologies enable integrators and OEMs to develop accurate and reliable systems for sorting and inspection. Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) is one these fast-developing technologies, combining spectroscopy and imaging. Because of this duality, HSI overcomes traditional systems, which are mostly based on x-rays and visible or multispectral sensors. Even though hyperspectral imaging has been well known for decades, the availability of faster and cheaper sensors is making the method more attractive for the industry. Marmion demonstrates various examples of the successful integration of such technology. The application fields that will be covered are pharmaceutics, phenotyping, the food industry, and recycling. Qualitative and quantitative applications will be highlighted.

The presentation focus will also cover a new processing platform that simplifies the integration of hyperspectral cameras into various industrial environments. This platform has been designed to fulfill industrial requirements for speed and robustness, enabling a faster integration of the technology. Extensive knowledge about data analysis or chemometrics is not required. The user-friendly interface allows quick adoption and deployment of the technology.

Many applications rely on vision systems. New sensors, such as hyperspectral cameras, are now in use, and several related success stories will be presented. Marmion will also discuss the latest developments for real-time processing of this data.
