About This Webinar
Galvanometer scanning systems are highly configurable tools for steering laser beams and are used in applications including microscopy, lidar, and the laser processing of materials. Choosing the correct configuration for a particular application requires the consideration of a wide range of factors. In this webinar, Carol Borsa from Thorlabs compares commonly available configurations and discusses the merits of each. She provides key insights to specifications on data sheets, and guides users to suitable solutions.

This presentation also covers basic integration steps and requirements, as well as helpful tools for finding the limits of a system. Participants will gain insights into best practices when choosing a system and will have the opportunity to learn ways to use other available equipment to integrate confidently.

Who should attend:
This conversation is ideal for engineers, academics, and students who are familiar with basic mechanical and electrical concepts but who also will be using complex devices in their research and development. Additionally, current manufacturers working in both laser processing and imaging may benefit from attending. This presentation will interest those using laser systems, LEDs, microscopy, optical components, or spectroscopy in numerous industries.

About the presenter:
Carol Borsa is a science and technology enthusiast who has been with Thorlabs since its acquisition in 2020. She is currently working as the subject matter expert for Thorlabs’ VantagePro galvanometer product line, assisting customers with either choosing catalog options or designing nonstandard configurations for projects with specialty requirements.
