Avoiding Common Pitfalls in Machine Vision Lighting
Machine vision lighting is often overlooked until it causes system failures. Engineers and integrators frequently underestimate how positioning, intensity, and environmental factors lead to uneven illumination, glare, shadows, or hidden defects—all of which degrade detection accuracy. This oversight can trigger costly redesigns, delayed deliveries, and systems that fall short of expectations. Drawing on real-world examples, this talk highlights common pitfalls, from neglecting vision requirements in machine design to the dangers of scope creep.

Sullivan shares practical strategies for choosing the right lighting, testing with a reliable sample set, and avoiding other missteps that derail machine vision projects. Attendees will learn how early lighting considerations drive more reliable systems and smoother machine vision integration overall.
