Temperature Controller
Newport - ILX Lightwave, PhotonicsRequest Info
ILX Lightwave Corp. has introduced the LDT-5910C thermoelectric (TE) temperature controller featuring 32 W of temperature control and an intuitive front panel. It is a direct replacement for the LDT-5910B TE model.
It incorporates low-noise, bipolar current output with a digital proportional integral derivative (PID) control loop for temperature control of laser diodes and other optoelectronic devices. For wavelength-sensitive and other high-stability applications, it provides long-term stability of ±0.002 °C.
For fast setup, the system incorporates preset PID values and a fast auto tune PID mode that automatically determines optimal PID values. It is compatible with a variety of sensors, including thermistors, resistance temperature detectors, and LM335 and AD590 integrated circuit sensors.
The linearized thermistor sensor mode allows the controller to achieve ±0.2 °C temperature accuracy from −30 to 85 °C with a standard 10-KO thermistor. Interlocks allow the user to connect the LDT-5910C to a laser diode driver and will disable the laser output if the temperature controller is disabled or is over the user-configurable temperature limit.
An analog voltage input enables temperature sweeping or tuning without using a remote interface or front panel control.
Included are USB 2.0 and IEEE 488.1 general-purpose interface bus connections for remote instrument operation in R&D and manufacturing environments. The instrument’s remote commands are compatible with the LDT-5910B, so customers can replace existing LDT-5910Bs with the LDT-5910C without reprogramming.
LabView drivers for the LDT-5910C are available for download from the company’s website.
