EXALOS’ Micro-RGB modules are ultra-compact full-color optical modules based red, green, and blue laser diodes or superluminescent diodes, and are suited for applications such as mixed and augmented reality, head-up displays, wearable mixed/augmented reality devices, and laser beam scanning. The modules have a free-space output with collimated and coaxially aligned RGB beams with high circularity, efficient beam overlap, and high polarization extinction ratio. The beam diameters are around 1.0 mm with a typical circularity better than 90%. The modules provide high-speed on/off modulation at several 100 MHz with power levels up to 50 mW per color. Passively cooled, the module has an ultra-compact footprint of a few square millimeters with a low-profiled hight and is suitable for sMD soldering on electric boards.
