Global-Shutter Image Sensor

STMicroelectronics

STMicroelectronics’ global-shutter image sensor for smart computer vision can be used in AR/VR, personal and industrial robotics, drones, barcodes, biometrics and gestures, and embedded vision and scene recognition applications. Measuring just 2.7 mm × 2.2 mm, it uses the global shutter for capturing distortion-free images when the scene is moving or when near-infrared illumination is used. The sensor features a native resolution of 800 × 700 pixels, native background removal, and an ‘always-on’ 1-mW autonomous mode that allows continuous awareness even when the host is turned off.
