PALAISEAU, France, Dec. 7, 2010 — WaveGauge from PhaseView is a turnkey solution based on digital wavefront sensing technology to meet demanding requirements for quality assurance, R&D and production environments.
In comparison to conventional systems, it provides a large amount of wavefront data on a superresolution 500 × 500 grid for real-time testing of lenses and delivers high speed at one lens/s and high accuracy of ?/20 rms.
Intensity and high-resolution wavefront mapping with proprietary digital wavefront cameras allows the optics tester to carry out simultaneous surface quality visualization and aberration analysis of most complicated lenses with spherical, aspheric or toric shapes.
All critical parameters in lens testing can be accurately measured, such as diopter power and power maps, very high order lens aberrations, point spread function, modulation transfer function and effective focal length. Also, a comparison to a lens design or theoretical data is performed.
Applications include wavefront aberrations measurement, aspherics characterization, simple and multifocal intraocular lenses, contact lens and lens molds, and optics and objectives.
Features include a CCD sensor, resolution of 1392 × 1040 pixels, a frame rate of 15 Hz, pixel dimensions of 6.45 × 6.45 µm, and pixel bit depth of 12. The camera’s dynamic range is 66 dB, wavelength range is from 350 to 1100 nm, aperture diameter is from 0.5 to 6.0 mm, and power absolute accuracy is from 0.1% to 0.3%. The system is equipped with a USB 2.0 computer interface, measures 67.5 × 18.5 × 15.5 cm and weighs 6 kg.
The system is insensitive to vibration and offers easy set up, with no calibration required, and easy adaptation in transmission or reflection mode.
