Constant Current Laser Driver CW2A (PLD-CW-2000-ZIF)

  • Company: Ampliconyx Oy
  • Type: Power Supplies
  • Output voltage: ≤ 2.5 V
  • Output current: ≤ 2 A
  • Current regulation step: 0.05 mA
  • Current/temperature stability: 0.1 %
  • Power supply: 12 VDC / 1.75 A
  • Communication interface: USB/UART/CAN

The CW2A (PLD-CW-2000-ZIF) is a constant current laser diode driver for powering 10/14-pin butterfly type I laser diode modules. The driver provides USB, UART and CAN interfaces for remote control.
Setting the current is done with a soft start. Soft shutdown also works at zero current setting. When a stop command is received, the current will be stopped immediately.

The driver’s current regulator combines switching and linear approaches, which allows to get zero current ripple.

The laser diode should be installed in a ZIF socket compatible with 10-pin and 14-pin butterfly packages. The driver has a heat sink plate with mounting holes for high current and temperature applications.

The driver supplies a bidirectional proportional-integral-derivative (PID) thermoelectric cooler controller (TEC) for laser diode temperature stabilization. Maximum TEC voltage is regulated by user.
