High-sensitivity, low profile FBG accelerometer. The Arkwright Technologies accelerometer uses a proprietary temperature insensitive transducer design that can be configured to work over a wide range of frequencies. The sensitivity and frequency range of the transducer can be selected during manufacture to suit most Vibration Analysis applications. The resolution is typically 1 part in 105 of the full dynamic range and can be as low as 0.00014 m/s2. Our sensors are inherently ‘Intrinsically Safe’ and can be used in hazardous and potentially explosive environments such as fuel tanks and mines. We use low loss single mode optical fibre which enables the sensors to be located in complex and convoluted environments. Our sensors have been used for vibration analysis of mining conveyor belts, 0n water pipes, for phase sensitive arrays, and on the surface of aerofoils.
