New Laser Spectrum Analyzer
The new model 771 measures the spectral characteristics of CW and pulsed lasers that operate from 375 nm to 12 µm. Wavelength accuracy is as high as +/- 0.0001 nm and spectral resolution is as high as 2 GHz.

PowerXP Compact Attenuator
The PowerXP is a very compact version of a motorized attenuator. This device attenuates free space laser beam (or pulse) continuously without introducing additional energy fluctuations. Contrast better than 3000:1 (Tp:Ts) is achieved, since this attenuator is mounted with high contrast polarizer.

High-Power Temperature Controllers
The 5400 Series TECSouce high-power temperature controllers bring power to a whole new level. Up to 960 Watts of TEC power and capabilities including an analog output, digital I/O, and multiple temperature sensors. These new controllers satisfy even your most demanding thermal applications.

CLEO 2015
The 2015 Conference on Lasers and Electro-optics (CLEO) will be held May 10-15, with an exposition May 12-14, all at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, Calif.
The annual international forum for scientific and technical optics brings together the fields of lasers and opto-electronics, focusing on all aspects of their respective technologies, as well as basic research, industry applications, and more. Attendees will be able to discuss and present groundbreaking research and share ideas. A peer-review program presents content from five core event elements -- QELS–Fundamental Science; Science and Innovations; Applications and Technology; Market Focus; and Expo. Numerous short courses will be offered within these core event elements, including Foundations of Nonlinear Optics, Cavity Optomechanics, and Plasmonics.
Among those slated to speak: Susan Cox, King's College London; Ronald Hanson, Stanford University; Ursula Keller, ETH Zurich (Switzerland); Xiang Zhang, University of California Berkeley (U.S.); Stefano Lupi, Universita di Roma (Italy); Ilya Bezel, KLA-Tencor Corp. (U.S.); Rainer Paetzel, Coherent GmbH (Germany); Seemantini Nadkarni, Harvard Medical School (U.S.); and Seung-Woo Kim, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (South Korea).
Photonics Media will sponsor the Technology Transfer program this year on Thursday, May 14, which gives researchers the chance to learn about turning their discoveries into marketable products. Topics to be discussed include technology licenses, funding and partnerships.
Two plenary sessions are scheduled during CLEO 2015. Speaking during the first (Monday, May 11) are: Tony Heinz from Columbia University (U.S.), who will discuss Electrons in Atomically Thin Two-Dimensional Crystals; Stefan W. Hell from the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry (Germany), a 2014 Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry who will discuss Nanoscopy with Focused Light; W. E. Moerner, of Stanford University (U.S.), also a 2014 Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry, who will present Light Paves the Way to Single-Molecule Detection and Photocontrol, Foundations of Super-Resolution Microscopy; and Eric Betzig from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (U.S.), a 2014 Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry who will talk about Imaging Life at High Spatiotemporal Resolution.
Networking events and poster sessions will also be held, in addition to fun gatherings such as the Photonics Media-sponsored Exhibit Happy Hour and International Year of Light Reception.
