Automated camera systems are being deployed in a wide variety of industrial settings to reduce costs, improve quality, limit the need for manual interventions and more. Engineers who design, develop and implement such systems must consider a range of camera and sensor characteristics including speed and resolution, along with the compatibility of related system components such as camera interface, lighting and algorithms.
This webinar will cover those topics from the perspective of an engineer developing automated camera systems for the print industry. Current system limits with respect to the cameras will be covered, as well as some new ways the systems are being pushed by state of the art printing/web processes and other forces.
Presenter Kelly Hanaway will share insights into what is needed from next-generation cameras and sensors for automated inspection. Hanaway is the director of engineering at QuadTech Inc. He has developed numerous control system applications for more than 20 years. For the past eight years he has been involved in the development of camera-based control systems for the print industry, including color, register and inspection solutions aimed at increasing the printer’s bottom line.
