OPTATEC 2014

Optatec, an international trade fair for optical technologies, components and systems, provides the optical industry with important information, communication and business platforms.

Held at the Frankfurt Exhibition Center in Germany, the event focuses on the innovation potential, development and applications for the photonics industry.

With technology and institutional partners SPECTARIS (the German Industry Association for Photonics and Precision Engineering) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering (IOF) present at the event, Optatec is presented as an international, high-tech shop window.

More than 500 exhibitors from across the globe will attend the event, featuring future technologies of industrial optics. Among them are advances in fiber optics, photovoltaics, LED solutions and safety systems, as well as production and medical technology applications.

A CEO Round Table will be held, highlighting Photonics as a Key Technology: the Markets with the Best Opportunities.

Green production with lasers and photonics for solar applications is also showcased, along with energy and material efficiency, economical conservation of resources, environmental protection and competitive power.

A mix of products and technical information is presented, too, in the Exhibitor Forum. This, along with modules, subsystems and complete solutions will offer support for technology, from learning the basics to applying such information to industry professionals’ work.

Exhibitors at Optatec will include OptoTech Optikmaschinen; TRIOPTICS; Qioptiq, Kryptronic Technologies, Optical and Optomechanical Components; IDEX Optics & Photonics; S1 Optics; Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Mechanics; and SPECTARIS.

A technology park on Training and Research: Study Photonics will be offered by numerous German universities. There will be an Optence Innovations Forum held as a marketplace for ideas, and OptecNet’s Startup Challenge should feature many innovative ideas.

A number of workshops, discussion forums and lectures will be held — Applications and methods for fabricating optics, Fiber optics/fiber optic technology, Laser system components, Mechanical/
thermal processing, Optical components/
materials/coatings/systems, Optical metrology and testing methods, Software for optics and optoelectronics, and Thin film technology — and led by companies such as Carl Zeiss Jena, Innolite, QED Technologies and TOPAG Lasertechnik.
