Neuroscience 2014

Vision 2014 The Society for Neuroscience will hold its 44th annual meeting Nov. 15-19, 2014, bringing together neuroscientists from around the world to discuss and present emerging science, studies and tools.

The event will feature more than 30,000 experts in the field, discussing topics including scientific publishing, academia, advocacy and public education. Attendees will learn from fellow neuroscientists, collaborate with peers, and explore new technologies.

They can learn about potential career and professional development opportunities, too, and will have access to a marketplace of tools and ideas for global neuroscience.

There will also be the chance to review and learn about emerging and unpublished findings via more than 15,000 submitted abstracts. These are organized into scientific poster sessions, Theme H poster sessions and nanosymposia by SfN's Program Committee.

Individual presenters from various schools and laboratories will offer workshops and presentations on topics such as neurobiology, stroke recovery, multineuronal brain monitoring, and potential research funding opportunities.

Among the presenters: Dino Dvorak (SUNY Downstate Medical Center), Domagoj Dzaja (Croatian Institute for Brain Research and Zagreb University), Kim A. Staats, (VIB, University of Leuven), Ana Isabel Plácido, (Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology and the University of Coimbra), Zhigang He (Harvard Medical School and Children's Hospital Boston), Dan Wu (Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine), and Yoshichika Baba (Columbia University Medical Center).

Panel discussions (symposia, minisymposia and nanosymposia) and a social issues roundtable will provide comprehensive coverage of vital neuroscience research topics. In addition, junior investigators will have the chance to propose minisymposiums to present research to a broad audience and gain public speaking experience.

Many exhibitors will share information and tools for brain mapping, cell culture, fluorescence probes, gene expression, spectral imaging, microarrays, receptors, surgical instruments and DNA markers.

Societies and journals will also present opportunities and information regarding research and study publishing.
