World's First 10µm MWIR Detectors

With the smallest commercially available pixel pitch, these state-of-the-art cooled MCT detectors are available in either XGA (1024 x 768) or HD (1280 x 720) formats. When compared to VGA systems, they deliver better detection range/field-of-view, lower power, more compact size and higher reliability.

SPIE Defense, Security & Sensing 2014

DSS 2014 With 450+ companies in attendance, several technical symposia, and some of the industry's most important scientific conferences and exhibitions, SPIE DSS 2014 offers immense opportunity for efficient information exchange, business development, vendor and project networking, and professional development.

Conferences and exhibitions will cover topics including optics, IR imaging, lasers and sensing for defense, security, industry, healthcare and the environment.

Among them will be Dr. Ludger Overmeyer, head of the Institute of Transport and Automation Technology at Leibniz University, who will discuss Planar Optronic Systems and the development of large-scale, polymer-based sensor foils with purely optical measurement principles.

William Ruh, vice president and corporate officer of GE Global Software, will talk about the emerging industrial Internet.

Troy Meink, a member of the Senior Executive Service for the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force for Space and director of the Executive Agent for Space Staff, will speak as well, presenting Innovation: Hard On Earth, Harder In Space. Here, he will discuss challenges in today’s national security space capabilities.

The Sensing Technology and Applications Symposium will cover topics such as hyperspectral imaging, IR sensors and systems, imagery and pattern analysis, next-generation sensors and systems, fiber optic sensors, wireless sensing, terahertz devices and systems, and 3-D imaging and visualization.

The Defense and Security Symposium focuses on the latest research in aviation and aerospace, laser technologies, cyber sensing and security, command/control/
communications/intelligence, system/
network integrator/VAR, IR imaging, communications and networking, and more.

A number of courses and workshops will also be offered, including Infrared Optics Design Principles, IR Atmospheric Propagation for Sensor Systems, and Electro-Optical Imaging System Performance.

New courses to be offered this year are Introduction to Electro-Optical Systems Design, Infrared Optics Design Principles, Finite Element Analysis of Optics, Laser Beam Formation and Propagation in Photonics Instruments and Sensor Systems, Designing IR Instrumentation, Multispectral Image Fusion and Night Vision Colorization, Infrared Optical Materials, Fabrication, Testing for the Optical Engineer, and Atmospheric Codes (MODTRAN, FASCODE and HITRAN) for Sensor Development and Evaluation.

The event’s exhibition will offer a look at the latest in robotics and unmanned systems, chemical and biological sensing, IR detectors and systems, cameras and CCD components, optical components, high-speed imaging and sensing, and more.

Product demonstrations will be featured during the event, by companies such as Heimann Sensor, VIGO System, Umicore Optical Materials, PIXELTEQ, StingRay Optics, TrackGen Solutions, Shanghai Magnity Electronics, Advanced Scientific Concepts, Iridian Spectral Technologies, Kopp Glass, SCHOTT Defense and Telops.

SPIE DSS attracts leading scientists, researchers and engineers from the laser, sensing, optics and imaging industry, military, government agencies, and academia. More than 2,300 presenters are among the thousands of attendees.
