2014 Photonics West
SPIE Photonics West is the largest and most influential event for the laser and photonics community in North America, featuring 20,000 attendees, two exhibitions, 1300 exhibiting companies, a wide range of papers on biomedical optics, biophotonics, translational research, industrial lasers, optoelectronics, microfabrication, optical MEMS, and more.
As always, the conference features the BiOS, OPTO, LASE, MEMS/MOEMS, NANO, and Green Photonics tracks. A highlight of BiOS is the Hot Topics in Biomedical Optics plenary session, where the latest technical breakthroughs are presented by leading worldwide experts. This year, the program features presentations on the hot topics of diffuse optical methods for assessing breast cancer chemotherapy, optical spectroscopy and tomography of oxygen delivery, single-cell photonic nanocavity probes and new small quantum dots for neuroscience.
Bound to be popular during the MEMS/MOEMS conference are presentations on tailoring light for optically-guided nano- and microassembly, bio-integrated and bio-inspired optical microsystems, and electrostatic nano electromechanical switches for energy-efficient digital systems.
But the Photonics West experience is more than technical papers and the exhibitions. These six days in San Francisco are filled with networking opportunities and new insights, such as the Women in Optics Panel and Reception, the always-crowded Photonics West Welcome Reception, and the Speed Networking Social.
Professional development events and events for members and students are also included in the jam-packed week of the conference.
Stop by our booths!
Visit Photonics Media at Booth 8701 during BiOS or Booths 700 and 701 during Photonics West, pick up the inaugural issue of Photonics Media's Industrial Photonics magazine or the January issue of our flagship publication, Photonics Spectra. Test your "light IQ" by playing our Light Masters game of photonics industry logos and/or trivia during the BiOS exhibition and you're registered for the drawing of a Google Nexus 7 tablet. There will also be Nexus 7 drawings daily for Light Masters players during the Photonics West Exhibition, as well as a random drawing on Feb. 6 for $300 in gift cards from Amazon! And as always, you can visit us online at www.photonics.com
