oscillograph

An instrument used to record rapidly varying currents or voltages. An oscillograph may consist of a cathode-ray tube oscilloscope with a camera attachment, or a mirror galvanometer with a lamp and optical system to trace rapid variations of electric current on a moving ribbon of photographic paper. The latter type of oscillograph is often a multiple unit capable of recording 20 or more current variations side by side on the same strip of paper.
