electron-beam recording

The recording of the information contained in a modulated electron beam onto photographic or silicon resin-coated materials. A direct recording method involves the passage of the recording medium through an aperture in the cathrode-ray tube or over a metallic window on its surface. Indirectly, recording can be accomplished by photographing the phosphor image of the cathode-ray tube's screen or by the use of optical fibers, to transmit the screen image directly to a contact printer.
