X resolution

X resolution is a measure of the number of pixels or data points along the horizontal axis of an image or display. It quantifies the level of detail that can be displayed horizontally, representing the number of distinct points of color or information that can be resolved within a given area of the image.

Pixel count: X resolution is often expressed as the number of pixels horizontally across the width of an image or display. For example, a resolution of 1920 × 1080 (Full HD) means there are 1920 pixels horizontally and 1080 pixels vertically.

Image clarity: Higher X resolution values indicate finer detail and clarity in the horizontal direction, allowing for sharper images and smoother lines.

Aspect ratio: X resolution, along with Y resolution (vertical resolution), determines the overall aspect ratio of an image or display.

X resolution is a critical specification in digital imaging, video display technology, and computer graphics, influencing the visual quality and detail that can be perceived in images and videos.
