The 3LPT solderable coating provides a highly adherent coating for soldering optics into metal housings. There are no reported failures of this coating for over 25 years of use with defense firms, medical instrument manufacturers, and diagnostic measurement tool companies.
Coating is applied to OD and beveled edges only. Optics which need solder surfaces on one face require special tooling, but can be done.
