Capillaries are a high-quality ordered array, similar to image conduits except that the solid optical fibers are replaced with hollow glass tubes. INCOM uses the same highly developed glass drawing technology to produce these hollow arrays in a wide variety of cross sections, pore sizes, and lengths. The hollow tubes are manufactured in clear or crosstalk-reducing black glass.
INCOM’s microcapillary array plates consist of dense orderly arrays of flow-through capillaries that are used in a wide variety of analysis, sensing, and processing functions. The plates are manufactured using advanced technology that gives unprecedented flexibility in the choice of capillary internal diameter (ID) and plate thickness at a lower cost than traditional technology.
Incom currently has the ability to manufacture Microcapillary boules as large as 230mm x 230mm x 400mm (L x W x D), which can be formed to any specified dimensions. Our process is scalable and fully customizable to meet your individual requirements. Microcapillary plates can be used in Time of Flight (TOF, Mass Spectrometry, Neutron Detection, Micro Channel Plates (MCP's), Micro-CHP, PET-Scan and many other applications.
