Custom Polymer Optics

Photonics MarketplaceDIverse Optics Custom Polymer OpticsDiverse Optics is the leader in precision injection molding and diamond turning (SPDT) of custom polymer optics. For over 25 years, we've been manufacturing the most challenging polymer optic components and assemblies for leading defense, medical, and commercial applications with advanced technology and an experienced team of professionals. We can help you trim weight, simplify design, and improve the performance of your optics. Our Core Processes: Our core processes include injection molding , single-point diamond turning (SPDT), opto-mechanical design, metrology, assembly, bonding, and thin-film coating.

We offer diamond turned prototyping and series production of components & assemblies using both diamond turning and injection molding processes. We manufacture a wide variety of optics including spheres, aspheres, domes, corner cubes, free-forms, anamorphic, diffractives, Fresnel, prisms, lens arrays, light-pipes, collimators, combiners, toroid, CPC’s, TIR, micro optics, reflective / mirror optics, parabolics, off-axis, ellipses, cylinders, and more!

Precision Injection Molding: • High volume series production • Integration of optical and mechanical functionality • Consistent part-to-part repeatability • High precision to cost ratio • Rapid production of precision polymer optics Injection molding offers the greatest value when compared to other optics manufacturing processes. Nominal material costs coupled with a relatively low-cost manufacturing processes offer unbeatable savings compared to traditional glass optics manufacturing.

Diamond Turning: Single Point Diamond Turning (SPDT) plays a key role in many of our polymer optics programs. Whether it's prototyping, tooling inserts, pilot production, or some combination of the three; diamond turning is a fundamental part of our process. We diamond turn, in-house on one of our 10 machines, some of the most challenging optical elements with complex forms and shapes.

Additional Services: We offer optical and mechanical assembly and bonding as well as support thin film coating and optical testing, in an effort to provide turnkey service for our clients. We perform standard and UV cure alignment and bonding of multiple optical elements, using optical adhesives from Norland and Locktite. Diverse Optics also employs the most recognized names (like Zygo, Taylor-Hobson, and Nikon (Nexiv)) in ultra-precision optical metrology to ensure the quality of your optics.
