Thermal Camera Core

May 2023
FARNBOROUGH, England, May 23, 2023 — The updated Athena 1920 high-definition thermal camera core from BAE Systems now supports missions requiring 360° situational awareness, vehicle protection, and space-based surveillance at night and in challenging weather.

It delivers IR imagery with high clarity, minimal motion blur, and sharp detail for wide-area surveillance, threat detection and monitoring, targeting, and commercial applications. Its protective coatings resist humidity, heat, and corrosion. For operation in space and high-altitude environments, redundant software-based single-event upset mitigation helps reduce the impacts of harmful radiation. With 30- and 60-Hz frame rate options and synchronization for more image depth, sensor hardening allows for the delivery of high-quality, broad-view night vision images from a range of platforms including ground vehicles, aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and satellites.
