Rapid Automated Modular Microscope
Rapid Automated Modular Microscope is mounted on the RAMM frame that supports the microscope assembly and the stage in a manner that ensures close coupling between sample and objective to minimize drift and vibration. The frame has many mounting holes and support points for custom adaptations for Modular Infinity Microscopes (MIM). The frame integrates MIM, XY stage, and top-side illumination into a fully functional compact automated imaging platform.
MIM includes LS-50 focus drive “backbone.” A beamsplitter and a mirror are attached to that LS-50. Wide selection of imaging and illumination optical paths can be attached to CUBEs. A single objective or manual and automated nosepieces are supported.
Why modular microscope? Because:
• simple single-purpose microscope can be less expensive than a general-purpose instrument
• the light path is accessible for experimenter / developer
• modular components offer a kit of parts for build-your-own researchers
• complicated systems are possible
• it can be upgraded and modified easily as requirements change.
RAMM features:
• automated high-speed XY stages, precision piezo and motorized Z focusing, and a wide range of scanning options
• configurable with infinity-corrected optics, dichroic filter cubes, multi-wavelength excitation and emission filter wheels, shutters, and detectors including cameras and photomultipliers
• autofocus, focus stabilization, and tracker are available
• the arrangement provides a solid platform for high-throughput screening, genetic sequencing, experimental research among other implementations
• designed for flexible OEM development using high quality, MTBF components to reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction.
