Aerotech - High-Dynamic Laser Scan HeadsThe Aerotech AGV-XPO is a high-dynamic laser scan head designed to enable micrometer precision and near-zero tracking error at long working distances, which produces extremely high accelerations and process speeds. It achieves this with optimized dynamics and superior feedback resolution, thermal stability and work-point calibration. The AGV-XPO scan heads offer configuration flexibility with multiple aperture sizes, optical coatings, focusing optics, and cooling options.

The AGV-XPO also offers laser system design flexibility because it synchronizes easily and integrates seamlessly with other linear and rotary motion axes. As with all Aerotech AGV laser scan heads, the AGV-XPO’s two axes are commanded as another set of precision axes with Aerotech’s Automation1 controller. Standard advanced programming features include contouring functions to minimize trajectory overshoot, position synchronized output (PSO) for position-based laser triggering, and infinite field of view (IFOV) to eliminate stitching errors by seamlessly combining servo and scanner motion.

The AGV-XPO can significantly improve process throughput without sacrificing part quality, which is critical for the most demanding laser processing applications. The key applications of AGV-XPO scan heads include high-speed drilling and cutting, micromachining, large-field and long focal length scanning, and ultrafast laser processing.
