About VIGO Photonics
VIGO Photonics is a leading manufacturer of epitaxial wafers and instruments for photonics and microelectronics, founded in 1987. The company is headquartered in the USA and Poland.
VIGO products are designed and manufactured in-house using unique, proprietary technology. The company’s portfolio includes:
- Epi-wafers (III-V epitaxial structures; GaAs-based and InP-based products)
- Infrared Detectors (based on HgCdTe and InAs/InAsSb materials; spectral range 1-20 µm; uncooled and thermoelectrically cooled; featuring unique immersion lens technology)
- Infrared Detection Modules (based on HgCdTe and InAs/InAsSb materials; high S/N ratio; bandwidth >1 GHz available)
- Focal Plane Arrays (spectral range: 3.7-4.8 µm; III-V materials compliant with the RoHS Directive)
- Accessories (preamplifiers, preamplifier power supplies, thermoelectric cooler controllers, mechanical accessories, AC adapters, and cables)
All products are characterized by
excellent performance and
high uniformity. A key strength of the company is
its ability to combine research and development in infrared technology with manufacturing, enabling close collaboration with customers.
Furthermore, VIGO Photonics operates its
own state-of-the-art measurement laboratories, which allow for rapid and highly accurate testing of products and semi-finished components at every stage of the manufacturing process.
Applications
VIGO Photonics solutions enable the development of products tailored to B2B applications in:
- Industry – laser power control and calibration
- Environmental protection – gas analysis, real-time water quality monitoring
- Healthcare – non-invasive breath and blood analysis
- Transport – temperature distribution analysis in fast-moving objects
- Research and development – precise, non-destructive spectroscopy
- Defense and security – smart munitions, early warning systems
- Automotive – emissions control of car exhaust fumes
Key customers include technology companies, system designers, and integrators looking for innovative solutions that provide actionable insights and enable data-driven decision-making through the use of VIGO’s products.
Innovations
VIGO Photonics is leading the groundbreaking
HyperPIC project, funded by the European Funds for a Modern Economy. The initiative focuses on defining and implementing a complete value chain for mid-infrared integrated photonic chips.
The project will establish the first foundry in Europe capable of high-volume manufacturing of integrated photonic circuits for the mid-infrared range.
