D7 can test optics of any shapes and size with nanometer accuracy. Also it tests quality of optical systems, optics inside assembled optical systems, and optics with different reflectivity. Main advantages are the following. No retrace error is introduced - common path coming and independently controlled two beams. No physical reference is needed - inside D7 there is a perfect spherical wavefront diffracted from a pinhole. Direct testing of concave optics without accessories. Large numerical aperture (F#) allows smoother, faster, and more accurate stitching - testing large and complicated optics by parts (e.g. aspheres, freeforms). DifroMetric processing software is included.
