Perkins Precision Developments (PPD) provides
custom laser optics, epoxy-free optical assemblies and precision thin film coatings that are specifically designed for HEL Applications such as Directed Energy, Space-qualified Satellite Systems and Industrial Materials Processing.
With comprehensive in-house optical fabrication capabilities, including super-polished substrates, advanced Ion Beam Sputtered (IBS) coatings, and state-of-the-art assembly techniques, PPD delivers innovative solutions engineered for exceptional durability, thermal and environmental stability, and to meet the stringent performance demands of the Quantum research, Semiconductor test and inspection, Telecommunications, Aerospace and Defense industries.
Available high-LDT products include
Polarizing Beam Splitter Cubes, Dielectric
Laser Mirrors, Matched Risley Wedge Pairs,
Spherical Lenses, Quartz Waveplates and Thin Film
Plate Polarizers. And all optics and coatings are fully manufactured in-house in Longmont, Colorado.
Founded in 2009 and located 30 minutes north of Denver, PPD operates out of a 12,600-square-foot facility in Longmont, featuring a class 10,000 clean room, low overhead, and the production flexibility to scale from prototype and R&D projects to high volume OEM requirements. Materials we frequently work with include Fused Silica, N-BK7, Infrasil, Suprasil, Zerodur, ULE, YAG, Sapphire, Silicon, and specialty filter and laser glasses.
Our advanced Ion Beam Sputtered
(IBS) coatings, available from 350 nm to 3000 nm, are ideal for high-power pulsed and CW laser systems that require excellent durability, low absorption, and/or high damage thresholds. Coating types include low-loss AR’s, laser-line mirrors, broadband mirrors, dual-wavelength AR and HR’s, dichroic mirrors, beam-splitting, and polarizing designs.
