Bandpass Filter. Courtesy of Midwest Optical Systems.BP610 optical bandpass filters from Midwest Optical Systems are designed for use in aquatic and agricultural environments. The BP610 product(s) features StablEDGE technology to minimize angular shifting with short focal length lenses, a Gaussian passband for full LED output, double side polishing for precision, and an antireflective coating to reduce glare. The lenses have a useful range of 520-690 nm, a full width at half maximum of 190 nm, a tolerance of +/-15 nm, a peak transmission of ≥90%, and a surface quality of 40/20.The BP610 blocks blue light while transmitting green and red. For oil spill applications, the BP610 reduces glare and increases contrast to distinguish between clean and contaminated areas, especially when used on drones or boats with multispectral cameras. In underwater imaging, the BP610 helps capture more detailed, higher-contrast images in murky environments, which can be used for marine research and underwater drone applications. For vegetation health monitoring and normalizing, the product(s) enables different vegetation index imaging due to its ability to enhance contrast by eliminating blue light scatter, which helps for clear differentiation between healthy and stressed plants.
