Mikrop Appoints CTO: People in the News: 7/16/2025

WITTENBACH, July 16, 2025 — Chris Jung. Courtesy of Mikrop. Micro-optics company, Mikrop AG, appointed Chris Jung CTO. Jung succeeds Wolfgang Braxmaier, who has led the company for over 15 years. Jung has been with Mikrop for seven years, working as an optical designer, product developer, and team leader. Wolfgang Braxmaier has transitioned from his leadership role to an account manager in sales.

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — IPG Photonics appointed Paulus Bucher senior vice president of global operations. Prior to joining IPG, Bucher served as senior vice president of global operations at Adtran, where he managed internal and outsourced manufacturing across the U.S., Germany, and Asia. Earlier in his career, he held senior operations roles at ADVA, CommScope, and Ericsson, leading large-scale transformation efforts and managing global supply chains.

DURHAM, N.C. — The International Optical Technologies Association (IOTA) appointed Chander Jeena general secretary. From 2006 to 2023, Jeena led the India-based Secretariat of the Authentication Solution Providers' Association, where he contributed to expanding its focus from a holography association to a broader association of providers of authentication and traceability technologies. In addition to overseeing the development of ongoing operations, he will also focus on expanding global membership, enhancing member engagement, and strengthening partnerships with organizations, while leading efforts to drive the next phase of growth for IOTA.

DURHAM, N.C. — Wolfspeed, a semiconductor manufacturer and designer, appointed Gregor van Issum CFO. Van Issum succeeds interim CFO Kevin Speirits. Van Issum has held senior roles at semiconductor manufacturers ams-OSRAM AG and NXP Semiconductors N.V. Most recently, van Issum served as executive vice president, group controller at ams-OSRAM, where he was involved in driving the financial performance of the company. He also led ams-OSRAM’s cost savings programs and sales initiatives in his dual role as the company’s chief transformation and performance officer. Van Issum’s appointment follows the addition of David Emerson, who joined Wolfspeed in May in the role of COO.
