Headwall Names Tim Spang CEO

Nov 2025BOLTON, Mass., Nov. 14, 2025 — Hyperspectral imaging company Headwall Photonics has appointed Tim Spang CEO. Spang joined the company in June as COO, having previously held leadership positions at Diligent Robotics and Seegrid, as well as operational and product leadership positions at Haemonetics, Unilife, and Bayer.

The company has also appointed David Blair to serve as COO. Blair has spent more than ten years at Headwall leading engineering, operations, and sales.
Spang succeeds Mark Willingham, who has served as Headwall’s CEO since 2023. Under Willingham’s leadership, Headwall said, the company executed upon the buildout of its product and software capabilities through multiple strategic acquisitions and internal development initiatives. The company acquired sensor-based sorting and inspection firm EVK DI Kerschhaggl (EVK) earlier
this year, as well as industrial hyperspectral imaging systems developer inno-spec GmbH
last year.
