Newly Formed EvolvOptic Acquires DiMaxx Technologies

Dec 2025
EvolvOptic, an optics company formed through the merger of Advanced Glass Industries and Glass Fab Inc. earlier this year, has completed the acquisition of DiMaxx Technologies, a California-based manufacturer of high-performance laser optical components with advanced computer numerical control (CNC) machining, optomechanical assembly, and metrology expertise.

The acquisition, EvolvOptic said, strengthens its coast-to-coast presence and boosts its vertically integrated platform. With the acquisition complete, the company plans to grow its workforce, with more than 40 new positions to be created in Rochester, following a recent multi-million-dollar expansion. Customers of DiMaxx will continue to work with the Auburn, Calif. team to ensure continuity, while also gaining access to EvolvOptics’ broader resources and supply chain.

“DiMaxx adds exceptional expertise in laser optical components and precision machining that directly supports our customers’ need for complex, schedule-critical optical systems,” said Ted Mooney, president of EvolvOptic. “Together, we’ll reduce development time, expand aperture and complexity limits, and deliver with fewer interfaces and less program risk.”

Founded in 2000, DiMaxx Technologies is a manufacturer of high-performance laser optical components and opto-mechanical subassemblies. The company employs proprietary polishing, metrology, and machining methods to produce optics with ultra-high surface quality and precision tolerances, supporting demanding applications in laser-based systems, defense, semiconductor, life sciences, and space.
