Oct 2025MONTREAL, Oct. 7, 2025 — CMC Electronics' InGaAs avalanche photodiode and quadrant PIN detectors are designed for aerospace and defense applications and optimized for laser spot tracking, guidance, and control. The InGaAs avalanche photodiode detectors feature low noise operation for enhanced signal-to-noise ratio. The detectors have a high responsivity of <100 MV/W at minimal noise-equivalent power. For fast detection, the avalanche photodiode detectors have a bandwidth of <450 MHz. They feature optical thermoelectric cooling for noise reduction. The quadrant PIN detectors have a four-section design for position sensing and beam tracking. The detectors have high responsivity in the 1064 nm to 1550 nm spectral range.
