Imec’s board of directors appointed Patrick Vandenameele CEO. He will succeed current CEO Luc Van den hove, who will then assume the role of chair of imec’s board of directors. The leadership transition is part of a plan prepared for the last two years to ensure a seamless and stable handover. Vandenameele most recently served as executive vice president and co-COO at imec. His career started in 1996 as an imec researcher in wireless communication. He then built up his career as a deeptech entrepreneur, returning in 2017 to further strengthen imec’s venturing activities. The transition is to become effective in April 2026.

VIENNA — TriLite, a provider of laser beam scanner display technology, appointed Mario Spiegl CEO. Spiegl has more than 15 years of leadership experience, previously holding senior roles at Foxconn, Knowles, and NXP.

He succeeds Peter Weigand, who will transition to an advisor role supporting the company’s ongoing fundraising activities and investor relations. Additionally, Spiegl has served as TriLite’s CCO since January 2025 and will continue to oversee sales and marketing. TriLite is creating a position, director of commercial operations, to support Spiegl and accelerate market traction.

BEDFORD, Mass. — SpectraWAVE, a medical imaging company, appointed Jonathan Hill chief medical officer. Hill is an interventional cardiologist from Royal Brompton Hospital in London with extensive expertise in coronary artery disease, complex percutaneous coronary intervention, intravascular imaging, physiology, cardiovascular innovation, and clinical study design and implementation.
PALO ALTO, Calif. — Engineered diamond materials developer and provider, Diamond Quanta, announced that Michael Pierantozzi will transition to co-founder and COO and business development (COO/BD), joining co-founder & CTO Afaq Piracha and founder and CEO Adam Khan. Two board observers will be added: Atiye Baymand and Jui Lim. The company additionally announced a strategic investment and partnership with Heller Industries with funding from CoreLabs Capital. Heller is an exclusive original design manufacturer and system integrator for Diamond Quanta’s Diamond Optics production tools. The investment financing from CoreLabs Capital will fund productization and customer pilots.
DURHAM, N.C. — Wolfspeed, a silicon carbide technology company, appointed Anthony Abate, Mike Bokan, Eric Musser, Hong Hou, and Aris Bolisay to its board of directors. Abate will succeed Tom Werner as chairman of the board.
