XR EXPO to Relocate to Stuttgart
STUTTGART, Germany, Sept. 12, 2025 — XR EXPO, one of the leading professional events for extended reality, is relocating and will be taking place on the ground of Messe Stuttgart in 2026. Organized together with the virtual dimension center, the trade fair will make the move to the new location April 28-29, 2026, in Stuttgart.
XR EXPO is comprised of an exhibition, a congress, and practical workshops. Aimed at trade visitors from key areas of industry in health, construction, commerce, trade, and other technical fields, it provides a platform for technology and software development companies, industry partners, research institutes, startups, and representatives from education, politics, and various associations.

Extended reality (XR) is an umbrella term which includes virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and the metaverse — applications at the heart of XR EXPO, at which companies and research institutes demonstrate their latest developments and experts discuss the possibilities for this technology in various industries.
“With XR EXPO, we are expanding our portfolio in the area of next-generation technologies with another fast-growing segment,” said Guido von Vacano, Executive Vice President at Messe Stuttgart. “Our aim, together with the VDC, is to establish a leading platform for the professional application of XR technologies and promote the international appeal of this event.”
XR EXPO will be organized together with the Virtual Dimension Center (VDC), the leading German competence network for virtual reality. Following years in Baden-Württemberg’s Haus der Wirtschaft and other locations, as well as an initial expansion in 2024 to the Schleyerhalle together with the “Virtual Worlds”, the move to Stuttgart’s trade fair grounds marks the next milestone in maximizing reach and visibility, as well as promoting potential for growth.
One new feature is the clearly structured trade fair hall, arranged according to the various sectors, allowing easier connection with specific experts. The congress program will be addressing various topics, such as Industrial XR, XR Training, GovTech XR, Healthcare XR, as well as AI and XR. The event will also see its focus shift to include architecture, commerce and trade.
