TDK Corporation has acquired SoftEye, Inc., a U.S.-based systems solution company developing custom chips, cameras, software and algorithms for use in smart glasses. Through the acquisition, SoftEye becomes an indirectly wholly owned subsidiary of TDK Corporation. SoftEye’s always-on custom chips and sensor systems feature a novel hardware- and software-based eye intent technology that enables low-power eye tracking and object recognition. The technology supports the delivery of a complete augmented/virtual reality display system as well as a human machine interface for interacting with AI through eye movement.
