Smart Vision Lights CEO Dave Spaulding to Retire

NORTON SHORES, Mich., July 31, 2024 — Smart Vision Lights has named Steve VanderZwaag, currently vice president of engineering, to succeed Dave Spaulding as president and CEO. Spaulding will retire at the end of 2024, with VanderZwaag stepping into the role Jan. 1, and will remain with the company in a part-time advisory role.

Spaulding has served as the company’s president and CEO for 12 years. During that time, the company saw significant growth in revenue and market share. In 2016, the company opened an office in the U.K. to enhance its growth in European and Asian markets.

VanderZwaag joined Smart Vision Lights in 2020, initially leading the development and launch of the new electronic assembly department. Promoted to vice president of engineering in 2023, VanderZwaag has over 25 years of diverse business experience, including key leadership roles in engineering and quality departments.
