SDI Group Acquires InspecVision

CAMBRIDGE, England, Nov. 13, 2024 — SDI Group has acquired InspecVision, a designer and manufacturer of computer vision-based measurement systems for industrial applications, for a net consideration of £6.1million (~$7.8 million). InspecVision will join SDI Group’s Industrial & Scientific Products division.

InspecVision provides precision measurement machinery for smart manufacturing, automated inspection, and reverse engineering services. According to SDI Group, the acquisition provides greater access to the U.S. market, and offers intragroup cross selling opportunities. Additionally, the acquisition provides new technological capabilities, including AI and machine learning.

SDI Group is comprised of various manufacturing businesses in the scientific and technology sector, mainly focused on digital imaging and sensing and control applications. Companies in the group's portfolio include Atik Cameras, Quantum Scientific Imaging, Synoptics, and Applied Thermal Control.
