Jonathan Flint stepped down as chairman of Refeyn, a developer of photometry systems. Jean-Paul Mangeolle, who has been a member of Refeyn’s Board since August 2022, will assume the role of chairman. Mangeolle has more than 35 years of experience in the life sciences instruments sector.

DENVER — Inertial fusion energy startup Xcimer Energy Inc named Silvia De Dea head of materials and process engineering. De Dea brings experience in scaling complex hardware systems for extreme ultraviolet lithography, analytical instrumentation, and advanced materials R&D. Xcimer additionally announced its formation of a 10-member science and technology advisory board. Mike Campbell, former associate director for lasers at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and key originator for the National Ignition Facility, as well as director of the University of Rochester’s Laboratory for Laser Energetics, will serve as chairman of the advisory board.
IRVINE, Calif. — Digital pathology company, MUSE Microscopy, appointed Derek Welch to its board of directors. Welch, president and chief medical officer of PathGroup, has two decades of leadership in pathology and laboratory medicine. He will also serve as chair of MUSE Microscopy’s science and technology committee.

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — LIS Technologies, a laser technology and uranium enrichment developer, appointed Lukasz Urbanski director of its stable isotope laser program. Urbanski has 12 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, specializing in high-power CO2 laser systems for extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography. Urbanski previously served as a high-power laser systems architect at ASML Research where he developed lasers and components for laser-produced plasma in high-volume manufacturing EUV lithography systems.

VALHALLA, N.Y. — Bing Liem, division president of FUJIFILM North Americas' imaging division, was appointed president the International Photographic Council (IPC) for the 2025-2026 term. The IPC is a multinational, non-profit, non-commercial organization comprised of members from across the global photographic and imaging industry. Liem joined Fujifilm in 2006, after working for AGFA Gevaert for 22 years. He has served as a division president at Fujifilm for the past three years.
