PowerPhotonic Secures $3.5M to Fuel Expansion

DALGETY BAY, Scotland, Aug. 20, 2025 — Wafer-scale optics designer and manufacturer PowerPhotonic has received a combined £2.6 million ($3.5 million) investment to help scale its U.K. and U.S. operations. The funding follows £2.7 million in investment received over the last two years.

Headquartered in Dalgety Bay, Scotland, with a high-volume manufacturing facility in Arizona, PowerPhotonic is a provider of precision micro-optics for laser applications. The company designs and manufactures complex freeforms that are used in laser systems for applications in aerospace and defense, and in medical devices and semiconductor manufacturing.

The investment, from Maven Captial Partners, will also help the company fund expansion in sales and marketing, and help target new high-growth verticals.
