More Change at Jenoptik: Supervisory Board Chair Resigns
JENA, Germany, Dec. 2, 2025 — The chairman of Jenoptik’s supervisory board, Matthias Wierlacher, will resign from his position as a member of the board effective Dec. 29. A successor will be elected in the near term, Jenoptik said.
The resignation follows last week’s news that CEO Stefan Traeger will step down from his position after nine years. The company said it would begin a structured process to find a successor.
Wierlacher has been a member of the Jenoptik supervisory board since 2012, becoming chairman in 2015. He has also served as chair of the management board of Thüringer Aufbaubank since February 2002. Thüringer Aufbaubank indirectly holds ~11% percent of the shares in JENOPTIK AG via Thüringer Industriebeteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG, making it the largest single shareholder.
