Mixx Technologies’ HBxIO silicon-based optical engine creates a communication platform for next-generation AI infrastructure, according to the company. The solution aims to address the increasing demand for system-wide power, low latency, and reliability at the data center level driven by the widespread use of AI.

Mixx was founded by researchers behind Intel's silicon photonics-based transceivers and Broadcom's co-packaged optics for network switches. The company is headquartered in San Jose, Calif. and has operations in India and Taiwan. The financing was led by ICM HPQC Fund, with participation from TDK Ventures, Systemiq Capital, Banpu Innovation & Ventures, G Vision Capital, Ajinomoto Group Ventures, AVITIC Innovation Fund, and other partners.
