ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Dec. 11, 2024 — Lightwave Logic, a developer of electro-optic polymer technology, has named Yves LeMaitre CEO, and Thomas Zelibor president. The company announced that Michael Lebby has retired as chairman and CEO, effective Dec. 10.

The company board also appointed Ronald Bucchi, current lead independent director, as nonexecutive independent chairman.

LeMaitre joined the company’s board of directors in August as a photonics industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the optical network and AI/datacenter industry, as well as in global technology, corporate strategy, and marketing. LeMaitre led the Optical Coherent Division of IPG Photonics and advised and oversaw its divestiture to Lumentum in 2022. For 10 years, he held roles of increasing responsibility, including chief strategy officer of Lumentum.

Zelibor previously served as CEO Lightwave Logic between 2011 and 2017, and as chairman from 2011 to 2022. He also served as the CEO of Flatirons Solutions and the not-for-profit U.S. Space Foundation. As the U.S. Navy’s chief information officer, Zelibor oversaw a multibillion-dollar annual budget, delivering increased growth and efficiency while directing IT policy, Navy space, processes, and cyber security strategy. He continues to serve as a director for public and private companies.

In September, Lightwave Logic appointed Thomas Connelly Jr., former CEO of the American Chemical Society, to its board of directors. The company said that the move was expected to aid Lightwave in expanding its initial business focus from datacenters and AI clusters connectivity to include other markets, including materials, organics, quantum/optical computing, aerospace, defense, and storage.

Lebby joined the Lightwave Logic board in 2015, and served as the company's CEO since 2017.

polymer
Polymers are large molecules composed of repeating structural units called monomers. These monomers are chemically bonded together to form long chains or networks, creating a macromolecular structure. The process of linking monomers together is known as polymerization. Polymers can be classified into several categories based on their structure, properties, and mode of synthesis. Some common types of polymers include: Synthetic polymers: These are human-made polymers produced through...
