Now in its fourth year, the Conference on Lasers, Optics, Photonics, Sensors, Biophotonics, and Ultrafast Nonlinear Optics (LOPS) is set to take place June 7-10. The conference brings attendees and presenters from more than 100 countries. According to conference chief Robert Alfano, distinguished professor at City College New York, this year’s conference will feature a number of industry luminaries discussing hot topics including high harmonic generation, attosecond lasers, and supercontinuum lasers. Alfano will deliver a plenary on June 7, titled “Update on Ultrafast Optical Physics for the Generation of HHG and Supercontinuum." Further highlights from the conference’s roster of plenary speakers include Harvard professor Federico Capasso presenting “Singularity Engineering by Meta-optics” and Louis DiMauro of Ohio State University presenting “Attosecond Clocking and Control of Strong Field Quantum Trajectories.” Across its four days, the conference will feature plenary and keynote speakers, workshops, panel discussions, demonstrations, and presentations covering a diverse range of topics in biophotonics, remote sensing, spectroscopy, optics, and lidar, among others.
