LMI Technologies Acquires AI, IIoT Inspection Company FringeAI

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 1, 2021 — 3D scanning and inspection company LMI, a producer of vison-based sensors for applications in factory production, has acquired FringeAI, an AI and IIoT (industrial internet of things)/5G inspection company based in Boston. FringeAI provides its integrated deep learning software suite, edge devices, and IIoT/5G-connected cloud services to multiple markets. 

In a press release, LMI said it will integrate the acquired company into its existing group of companies, forming an AI solution group. LMI in January announced that Mark Radford, who previously served as the company’s chief operating officer, would succeed Terry Arden as CEO.
