LK Metrology Acquires Software Assets from Nikon Metrology

CASTLE DONINGTON, England, Nov. 13, 2024 — LK Metrology has acquired Nikon Metrology’s laser scanning and Focus point cloud inspection software business. As part of the acquisition, all Nikon Metrology laser scanning R&D, service, and production resources will be transferred to LK Metrology to support existing customers. LK Metrology plans to further develop the laser scanning portfolio and related software to provide new and innovative metrology solutions.

Founded in 1963, LK Metrology was relaunched as an independent coordinate measuring machine (CMM) manufacturer after years as a division of Nikon Metrology. LK Metrology produces CMMs, portable measuring arms, and metrology software, which are used globally for quality control in manufacturing. The company is headquartered in Derby, England, and maintains offices across North America, Europe, and China, along with a global distribution network.

The companies plan to collaborate to ensure a smooth transition for customers and resellers.
